Tyler Robbins R.1CA "Korean Traditional Theme" #1
Inspiration
This Robbins R.1CA was ordered by one of our Korean clients. Korean traditional window patterns were the client's initial inspiration. Tyler brought the theme and re-interpreted it with his visual language.
Tyler also came up with the sound hole plug. While pursuing the design continuity, it has the functionality of a door or window.
Material
For this design, Tyler explored three different materials to be joined cohesively.
First, jade-like resin art will be dominantly used to give it a tone. Then, the Koa segments will be used for the rosette inlay. In the initial design draft, copper was the material considered, but Tyler chose brass. There will be Rodgers Tuners upgrade with Brass parts as well.
We'll be back with more in the next post~
